Indian onions are famous for their sharp, strong smell or test and are available round the year. Indian onions have two crop cycles, first harvesting starts from November to January and the second harvesting from January to May. Major varieties found in Indian Onions are Red Onions, White Onion and Pink Onion.

Red Onion:  Small Size: 20 mm to 30 mm, Medium Size: 40 mm to 45+ mm, Big Size: 50 mm to 60+ mm.

White Onion: Available only on seasonal basis, mostly November to February.

Pink Onion (Yellow Onion): Available throughout the year. 

Storage: Onions should be stored in a cool, dry location with good ventilation. They should not be stored in either a plastic bag. Avoid prolonged storage in a refrigerator.
